What is a prospectus?

A prospectus is a document which is provided to investors of a mutual fund. It is a fund's legal selling document that contains more complete information on a fund's investment objectives, portfolio management services, investment risks and management fees.

What is an investment objective?

The result that portfolio management hopes to achieve for investors of a mutual fund by using a stated investment strategy. (Ex: The ABC Fund seeks to achieve long-term capital appreciation through investment in U.S. common stocks.)

What is a "signature guarantee"?

It is a certification that attests to the genuineness of your signature. It is typically required for large or unusual redemptions of mutual funds, though some funds require it for all redemptions. The financial institution that you obtain the guarantee from ­ which could be a commercial bank, trust company, federal savings bank, savings institution, member of a national securities exchange or other type of eligible financial institution ­ warrants that you as the signer are an "appropriate" person and that you have "legal capacity" to sign. It is not a notarized signature.

What is a statement of additional information?

It is a document that contains information such as brokerage selection, description of the funds' investment adviser, etc. It is designed to be read along with the prospectus, however is not required to be given to an investor unless specifically requested.

Can I check my account balance or perform a transaction on-line?

Balances can be accessed and transactions conducted in the Account Access area. This area is accessible through our site. You must request a PIN number from Shareholder Services (888-259-7565) before you can log-in to your personal account. In this area, investors will be able to check their balances, and conduct several transactions, including transferring funds, purchasing and selling shares. Please make sure that your account has been set up to accept and process online/telephone transactions.

Can I change my address through the web page?

For security reasons, any change of address must be done in writing with a letter of instruction signed by all owners on the account. This letter can be sent to the address in Contact Us. Please be sure that the account number is referenced in the letter.

Can I get a prospectus or application from the web page?

Prospectus' and applications can be downloaded from this Web site. They can also be requested via mail by calling or writing Firstar Mutual Fund Services, in Contact Us.

When are fund prices updated?

Fund prices are updated every night. The prices that are displayed reflect the closing price for the previous business day.

How do I add to an existing account?

Additional shares can be purchased several ways. You can send a check, with your account number, to the mailing address in Contact Us. Shares can be purchased automatically by completing the periodic investment option on an application, so shares are automatically purchased for your account and funds are withdrawn from your bank account. Shares can be purchased via wire. Please see your prospectus for instructions on purchasing shares in this manner. Finally, shares can also be purchased online, if you have previously signed up for Account Access privileges.

How do I open a new account?

New accounts can be opened by requesting a prospectus and application, either by phone or mail. A prospectus and application can also be downloaded from our site, on the Forms and Applications page. Once the prospectus has been carefully read, fill out the application, sign it, and mail it to Firstar Mutual Fund Services. If you have questions while filling out the application, please call 888-259-7565 for additional information or assistance.

How do I sell shares in my account?

Requests for the redemption of shares must be received before 4:00 pm Eastern Time for same-day execution at that day's closing price. Requests received after 4:00 pm will be processed on the next business day. Shares can be sold by telephone, 888-259-7565, if this capability has been indicated on the account application. Shares can be sold via mail, by sending your instructions, including your account number to the mailing address in Contact Us. Finally, shares can be sold online through the Account Access area, if you have registered for this option.

How can I tell if my transactions are in a secure environment?

Most browsers have an icon such as a lock or a key to represent that you are in a secure area. A broken key or an open lock indicates that the area is not secure.

How do I change my Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the account access area?

You must call the Summit Mutual Funds customer service number, 888-259-7565, to request a PIN number. For your security, it will be mailed to the address on file for your account, within two weeks. Once you have received your PIN, it can be changed online in the account access area. Please note that if you have changed your mailing address within the last ten days, you will not be able to request a PIN during that time.

What if I forget my PIN?

If you forget your PIN number, please call the Summit Mutual Funds shareholder service number, 888-259-7565, to request a new one. A shareholder representative will ask for information to ensure your identity and mail the new PIN number to the address that is on file for that account. You will be unable to transact online until you receive your new PIN. Once you have received your new PIN, you can use it to access your account and change your PIN if you choose.

How do I find fund return information?

Fund performance information can be found in the Fund Information portion of this Web site. Select the fund you wish to get information about, and then select Performance. This will display historical return information for that particular fund. Quarterly performance for all funds can be found by clicking here.

Where can I find fund prices?

Daily fund pricing can be found under Daily NAV's. This will provide a complete listing of all the Summit Mutual Funds and their most recent closing price.
